In a small Southern California beach town lived two sisters.
Alesse Lanae, with a knack for aesthetic, was constantly dreaming up unique jewelry pieces for her family and friends.
Melissa Lane, inquisitive and thoughtful, balanced her sister’s ideas with practicality and reservation.
It started small, with identical rings made of gold and diamonds. As the sisters grew, their heirlooms kept them connected—no matter where in the world they went.
In 2015 the sisters created Lane + Lanae, a new generation of heirlooms, with the intention of sharing high-quality, sustainably made jewelry to be passed down through the generations.
A new generation of heirlooms means jewelry made with you and the planet in mind. It means transparency in our process from beginning to end. It means putting care into each piece produced so what you get is not just a product, but also a part of your story, to last and be passed down.
Fine jewelry should last a lifetime, but no jewelry is worth a life. All our materials are ethically sourced, from fair trade gold to conflict-free, accredited diamonds. We manufacture all products in California to ensure our artisans receive fair working wages for their beautiful craftsmanship. We also believe in giving back, and regularly donate to causes dear to our hearts.
Sustainability is at the forefront of Lane + Lanae from design to delivery. We design each piece to be wearable and enduring. Our gold is fair trade or reclaimed and our diamonds are conflict-free and from accredited suppliers. Every item is made-to-order in Southern California to avoid wasting unnecessary time, resources, and labor. Our packaging is recyclable and we use carbon offset shipping whenever possible.
Quality is a word you will hear a lot when it comes to fine jewelry, but it goes beyond the fact that you are investing in precious metals and stones. Not all diamonds and gold are created equally. We ensure that our diamonds are of SI1 GH quality or higher and that our gold is solid 14k (or 18k upon request). While our designs are dainty, they are also durable.
We believe jewelry should never be One Size Fits All. Yet most jewelry stores carry “standard” sizes like 16” necklace chains and rings in size 6 or 7. We are proud to offer all-inclusive sizing, which is also why each piece is made to order for the perfect fit.
